It was on March 3, 2002, that Word of Life Lutheran Church held its first worship service. From its inception, Word of Life immersed itself into the community, sharing the love and presence of Jesus Christ with those who seek a closer relationship with Him. Over the next two years, under the leadership and with the support of Crown of Life Lutheran Church in Sun City West, AZ, Word of Life held worship services in various locations in the Surprise area. In 2004, with the continued help of Crown of Life and also the Pacific Southwest District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, a parcel of land in Surprise, Arizona was purchased and design and construction of the new church began shortly afterwards. Not long after the church opened its doors, Word of Life Christian School was begun as a day care and preschool. The school has expanded to include kindergarten and first-grade classes. As it grows to meet the needs of its students, the school intends to add more grades to ensure pupils have the opportunity to continue a Christian-focused education. Since its inception, Word of Life has experience tremendous growth and plans to add to its campus are underway. The next phase of construction includes a multi-purpose room that will double as a gym and eight more classrooms for the school. The last component to the church’s Master Plan, a sanctuary, will complete the campus. From beginning to end, people are the heart and soul of Word of Life's ministry and Jesus Christ as God's expression of unconditional love, is its foundation. You are invited to take the time to look at the various ministries and opportunities to serve God through the mission and ministry of Word of Life Lutheran Church.
