Reverend Steve Cluver is the pastor Word of Life Lutheran Church. He is a 1969 graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary. Shortly after graduation, he accepted an assistant pastor position at a church in Michigan and remained there until 1973, when his service to the Lord took him to Phoenix.

Since that time his ministry has been in the southwest serving a congregation in California and also one in Nevada. Pastor Steve brings to Word of Life almost 40 years of pastoral experience. During these years he has believed strongly in personal ministry such as knowing members by first names. He has been "dubbed" over the years as a "people's pastor".

When not involved in ministry, Pastor Steve can be found on a golf course or watching baseball. He also enjoys wood working. Being back in the Phoenix area is like being home again. Pastor Steve is daddy to three grown children, two girls and a boy, and grandpa to three grandchildren, two boys and a girl.
