Prayer

Part 10

Part 1

“Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name,

10 your kingdom come,

your will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

11 Give us today our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts,

as we also have forgiven our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from the evil one.

-Matthew 6

TEMPTATION

Part 3

“Lead us not into Temptation,

but deliver us from the Evil One

SATAN’S FALL

Satan was a good angel

(Gabriel, Michael, Satan)

until he became a bad angel.

“How you have fallen from heaven,

morning star, son of the dawn!

You have been cast down to the earth,

you who once laid low the nations!

You said in your heart,

I will ascend to the heavens;

I will raise my throne above the stars of God;

I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly… 14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’ 15 But you are brought down to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit.”

-Isaiah 14:12-15

Adam & Eve’s FALL

(“The Fall”)

Original Sin

-Romans 3:23+

“… all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood…” 26 he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.”

-Romans 3:23-26

The seventy-two returned with joy and said, ‘Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.’ 18 He replied, ‘I saw Satan FALL like lightning from heaven.

19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. 20 However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.’”

-Luke 10:17-20

God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”

- 1 Corinthians 10:13

Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.”

-Hebrews 2:18

BUT when we do fall,

God’s grace forgives us.

We are not like

“Humpty Dumpty”

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,

Humpty Dumpty had a great fall;

All the King's horses

And all the King's men,

Couldn't put Humpty together again.

There is nothing wrong with sitting on a wall,

as long as you are humble, etc.

Most images of Humpty show him as cocky, snarky, etc.

Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life… So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t FALL!

–Luke 21:34; 1 Corinthians 10:12

TEMPTATION

1. Desire

2. Doubt God’s word

3. Deception

4. Disobedience

Behind every sin is a lie that we believe.

Sin’s advertised price

is always less than the

actual cost.

I will sing of your love and justice; to you, Lord, I will sing praise.

2 I will be careful to lead a blameless life— when will you come to me? I will conduct the affairs of my house with a blameless heart.

3 I will not look with approval on anything that is vile.”

-Psalm 101:1-3
