An Arrogant Heart
Satan
“Before a downfall the heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor.”
-Proverbs 18:12
"How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! 13 You said in your heart, “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly… 14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High. 15 BUT you are brought down to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit."
-Isaiah 14:12-15
“I will ascend to the heavens”
I want to go higher.
I want more than what God gave me and made me.

Arrogance always exalts itself.
“I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly”
I want a seat at the table.
I want my say.
14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.”
Satan, do you really think that you can become LIKE God [The MOST high]
But God has other plans for the arrogant.
15 BUT you are brought down to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit.”

“When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. 10 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, 11 or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritus or who consults the dead. 12 Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord; because of these same detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you. 13 You must be blameless before the Lord your God. 14 The nations you will dispossess listen to those who practice sorcery or divination. But as for you, the Lord your God has not permitted you to do so. 15 The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your fellow Israelites. You must listen to him.”
Deuteronomy 18:9-15
“In the past [Old Testament] God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days [Now] he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. 3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, [Crucifixion] he sat down [No more sacrifices are need] at the right hand [Place of honor] of the Majesty in heaven. 4 So he became as much superior to the angels [Even Satan] as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.”
-Hebrews 1:1-4
Let God Do the Worrying for you
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air…your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?… you of little faith? 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
-Matthew 6:25-34
