Reformation/All Saints’ Day

(October 31st)/(November 1st)

Reformation: To eliminate abuse or malpractice and get back to the Bible.

Grace Alone

Faith Alone

Scripture Alone

“It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

-Ephesians 2:8-10

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

-John 14:6

“To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

-John 8:31,32

Fact

Know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

Opposite

Know the lie, and the lie will imprison you.

That is why “The Reformation”

“Repent, then, [Turn around, change directions] and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.”

-Acts 3:19

“Here I stand, I can do no other.”

 -Martin Luther

“Stand” = on God’s Word and not on human reasoning.

(By Grace through faith, not works)

Look to God for your strength and wisdom to live each day in uncertain times.

Do not look to the Occult

Magick

Fortune Telling

Spiritism

“When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. 10 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, 11 or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. 12 Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord; because of these same detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you.13 You must be blameless before the Lord your God.14 The nations you will dispossess listen to those who practice sorcery or divination. But as for you, the Lord your God has not permitted you to do so. 15 The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your fellow Israelites. You must listen to him.” [Jesus]

Deuteronomy 18:9-15

“In the past [Old Testament] God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days  [Now] he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. 3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, [Crucifixion] he sat down [No more sacrifices are need] at the right hand [Place of honor] of the Majesty in heaven. 4 So he became as much superior to the angels [Even Satan] as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.”

-Hebrews 1:1-4

“Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

-James 4:7

“Be sober and vigilant because the devil walks about as a roaring lion.”

- 1 Peter 5:8–9

“Greater is he [Jesus] that is in you, than he [Satan] that is in the world.”

-1 John 4:4

“Christ triumphed over principalities and powers.”

- Colossians 2:15

Let God Do the Worrying for you

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air…your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?… you of little faith? 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

-Matthew 6:25-34

Guilt and Grace

“There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

-Romans 8:1

“All Saints Day”

You are a Saint!

“…the word of the Lord stands forever… Resist him, [Satan] standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings … be patient and stand firm, because the Lord's coming is near.”

 (1 Peter 1:25, 1 Peter 5:9, James 5:8)
