This is YOUR Day

This is YOUR Day

Count your days

and

make your days count.

“Teach us to number OUR days,

that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

-Psalm 90:12

Every day is special

It is more natural to believe the

negative than the positive.

The words of the Teacher, son of David, king in Jerusalem: 2 “Meaningless! Meaningless!” says the Teacher. “Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless.” 3 What do people gain from all their labors at which they toil under the sun? 4 Generations come and generations go, but the earth remains forever. 5 The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises. 6 The wind blows to the south and turns to the north; round and round it goes, ever returning on its course. 7 All streams flow into the sea, yet the sea is never full. To the place the streams come from, there they return again. 8 All things are wearisome, more than one can say. The eye never has enough of seeing, nor the ear its fill of hearing. 9 What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. 10 Is there anything of which one can say, “Look! This is something new”? It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time. 11 No one remembers the former generations, and even those yet to come will not be remembered by those who follow them.”

-Ecclesiastes 1:1-11

“A time is coming and in fact has come when you will be scattered, each to your own home. You will leave me all alone. Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me.

33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.

In this world you will have trouble.

BUT take heart! I have overcome the world.”

-John 16:32,33

How to live each day

Think about each day the right way.

Positive/Hopeful/Encouraging

Only a Godly perspective gives real meaning to life.

2 Chronicles 1:7-12

God appeared to Solomon and said to him, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.” 8 Solomon answered God… you have made me king over a people who are as numerous as the dust of the earth. 10 Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?”

11 God said to Solomon, “Since this is your heart’s desire and you have not asked for wealth, possessions or honor… and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king, 12 therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. And I will also give you wealth, possessions and honor…”

This is the [the YOUR day] day the Lord has made,

we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

-Psalm 118:24

“Remember, O God, that my life is but a breath; my eyes will never see happiness again… I despise my life; I would not live forever. Let me alone; my DAYS have no meaning.”

-Job 7:6,16

“I know that my REDEEMER lives,

and that in the end he will stand on the earth.”

-Job 19:25

Be Positive/Hopeful/Encouraging

The Cross reminds us of a PLUS Sign

“Surely goodness and mercy will follow us all the DAYS of my life and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.

-Psalm 23:6

“My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the king; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.”

-Psalm 45:1

Interpretation:

My tongue is writing the script of the story of my life.

“What a horrible day.”

“It’s just not my day.

Nothing Negative Unless Necessary

“Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good DAYS, 13 keep your tongue FROM evil and your lips FROM telling lies. 14 Turn from evil and do good;

seek peace and pursue it.”

-Psalm 34:12

A key to great DAYS can be the way you talk, think, act, react, etc.

Homework this week…

Pay attention to the way you speak each day. N.N.U.N.

“Who dares despise the

DAY of small things…”

-Zechariah 4:10

“I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the DAY of salvation.”

-2 Corinthians 6:2

Salvage = To rescue, save

"Thinking of you and counting the days until we meet again"

Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, 13 keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies.

14 Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.”

-Psalm 34:12-14

Those who leave everything

in God’s hands

will eventually see

God’s hands in everything.
