Jesus said; “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”
-John 10:11
During a time when some people are trying to make other people uncomfortable for a variety of reasons,
You can be comforted to know that
Jesus says that you are one of his sheep.
You belong to him.
Jesus loves you and provides for you.
For our devotion today let’s look at Psalm 23
To see how the Lord, as your Shepherd,
provides for all of you and your family’s needs.
Look at all that He provides,
beginning with a relationship with YOU.
The Lord is my shepherd
He is in a relationship with you!
I shall not want
He supplies your needs!
He makes me to lie down in green pastures
He gives you rest!
He leads me beside the still waters
He brings refreshment to you!
He restores my soul
He brings healing in your life!
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
He offers guidance to you!
For His name’s sake
He has a purpose for your life!
Even though I walk through the valley
of the shadow of death
He gives a healthy perspective (“even though”)
in dealing with your challenges!
I will fear no evil
He gives that assurance!
For you are with me
He is faithful to you!
Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me
He comforts and shelters you!
You prepare a table before me in
the presence of my enemies
He gives you hope!
You anoint my head with oil
He blesses!
My cup runs over
He gives to you in abundance!
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life
He gives security!
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
That’s ultimate comfort and peace!
Forever!
That’s eternity!
How beautiful are all of the blessings that
you are promised by Jesus.
Live like you trust that Jesus can shepherd you through every situation in your life.
Oh, how the world would be a better place if we did.
And Oh, the peace that we could experience.
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for all that you provide.
Help me to live with the strength
and peace of those provisions
in every area of my life.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen!
God bless you… Pastor Dave
