The Book of Numbers - Highlights
(12:3) Moses = most humble man on earth
(17:1+) Aaron’s staff buds proving he’s leader.
(20:1+) Moses disobeys and Strikes the Rock
(21:4+) God sends poisonous snakes then Moses makes a pole with a bronze snake on it.
Some died. Those who were bit and looked at it you were healed. [See Jn 3:14,15]

We have all been bitten by the snake.
[Original sin]
Those who have looked to the Son have been healed/Forgiven.
[Believed in]
“Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man [Jesus] must be lifted up, [On the cross] 15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life [Completer forgiveness] in him.” 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
-John 3:14-16
NUMBERS 13
Trust God no matter what
(12) spies sent into Promised Land.
(Numbers 13+)
(2) Trusted God (Joshua & Caleb)
(10) - Did not trust God.
“The Lord said to Moses, 2 ‘Send some men to explore the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites. From each ancestral tribe send one of its leaders.’… [Negative Report →] “The people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large… [This was the report of the 10 spies who did not trust God] 30 Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We SHOULD go up and take possession of the land, for we CAN certainly do it.” 31 But the men who had gone up with him said, “We CAN’T attack those people; they are stronger than we are.” 32 And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, “The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. [“All” = Fear exaggerates. Fear often uses words like, Never, Always, Every, No One, Everyone.] 33 We saw the Nephilim … We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.”
-Numbers 13:28-33
NUMBERS 14
Trust God no matter what
*The people believed the 10 negative Spies.
*They wanted to go back to Egypt again.
*They wanted to stone Moses & Aaron.
*God told them that no one over 20 would see the Promised Land.
God responds to their disbelief
“In this wilderness your bodies will fall—every one of you twenty years old or more who was counted in the census and who has grumbled against me. 30 Not one of you will enter the land… except Caleb… and Joshua…”
-Numbers 14:29,30
When Moses/Aaron Disobeyed in front of the people
NUMBERS 20
[People complained about no H2O] 7 The Lord said to Moses, 8 “Take the staff, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together. Speak to that rock before their eyes and it will pour out its water. 10 Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly [Obey God in all the details] together in front of the rock and Moses said to them, “Listen, you rebels, must we [“Aaron & I”. Note: they did not acknowledge God as the source] bring you water out of this rock?” 11 Then Moses raised his arm and struck the rock twice with his staff. Water gushed out, and the community and their livestock drank.” 12 But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not trust in me enough to honor me as holy in the sight [their presence] of the Israelites, you will not bring this community into the land [Promised Land] I give them.”
- Numbers 20:7-12

God asks each one of us:
Who is the object of your faith?
[God, Yourself, or Others]
God asks each one of us:
What is the object of your faith?
[Money, Security, Reputation, Accomplishments, Science, Knowledge, etc]
A great quote
“God said it, I believe it, that settles it.”
A far greater quote
“God said it, I believe it, that settles it.”
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.”
-Proverbs 3:5-8
“When [not “if”] I am afraid, I will trust in you.”
-Psalm 56:3
Obey God in every detail!
