Thanksgiving Through Scripture and Song

Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart

Give thanks with a grateful heart, Give thanks to Holy One, Give thanks because He’s given Jesus Christ His Son.

Give thanks with a grateful heart, Give thanks to the Holy One, Give thanks because He’s given Jesus Christ His Son.

And now let the weak say “I am strong.” Let the poor say “I am rich,” Because of what the Lord has done for us.

And now let the weak say “I am strong,” Let the poor say “I am rich,” Because of what the Lord has done for us.

Give thanks, Give thanks.

Colossians 3:15 - 17

15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.

17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Sing to the Lord of Harvest

Sing to the Lord of harvest, Sing songs of love and praise; With joyful hearts and voices Your alleluias raise, By Him the rolling seasons In fruitful order move; Sing to the Lord of harvest A joyous song of love.

God makes the clouds rain goodness, The deserts bloom and spring, The hills leap up in gladness, The valleys laugh and sing. God fills them with His fullness, All things with large increase; He crowns the year with blessing, With plenty and with peace.

Bring to this sacred altar The gifts His goodness gave, The golden sheaves of harvest, The souls Christ died to save. Your hearts lay down before Him When at His feet you fall, And with your lives adore Him Who gave His life for all.

Leviticus 7:12-15

12 “‘If they offer it as an expression of thankfulness, then along with this thank offering they are to offer thick loaves made without yeast and with olive oil mixed in, thin loaves made without yeast and brushed with oil, and thick loaves of the finest flour well-kneaded and with oil mixed in.

13 Along with their fellowship offering of thanksgiving they are to present an offering with thick loaves of bread made with yeast.

14 They are to bring one of each kind as an offering, a contribution to the Lord; it belongs to the priest who splashes the blood of the fellowship offering against the altar.

15 The meat of their fellowship offering of thanksgiving must be eaten on the day it is offered; they must leave none of it till morning.

For the Fruits of His Creation

For the fruits of His creation, Thanks be to God. For the gifts to ev’ry nation, Thanks be to God. For the plowing, sowing, reaping, Silent growth while we are sleeping, Future needs in earth’s safe-keeping, Thanks be to God.

In the just reward of labor, God’s will is done. In the help we give our neighbor, God’s will is done. In our world-wide task of caring For the hungry and despairing, In the harvests we are sharing, God’s will be done.

For the harvests of the Spirit, Thanks be to God. For the good we all inherit, Thanks be to God. For the wonders that astound us, For the truths that still confound us, Most of all, that love has found us, Thanks be to God.

Ezra 3:11

11 With praise and thanksgiving they sang to the Lord:

“He is good; his love toward Israel endures forever.”

And all the people gave a great shout of praise to the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.

Praise and Thanksgiving

Praise and thanksgiving, Father we offer For all things living, Created good: Harvest of sown fields, Fruits of the orchard, Hay from the mown fields, Blos-som and wood.

Bless, Lord, the labor We bring to serve You That with our neighbor We may be fed. Sowing or tilling, We would work with You, Harvesting, milling For daily bread.

Father, providing Food for Your children, By Your wise guiding Teach us to share One with an-oth-er, So that, rejoicing With us, all others May know Your care.

Psalm 69:30

“I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving.”

Psalm 95:1-2

Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.

Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.

Psalm 100:4

Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.

We Praise You, O God

We praise You, O God, our Redeemer, Creator; In grateful devotion our tribute we bring. We lay it before You, we kneel and adore You; We bless Your holy name, glad praises we sing.

We worship You, God of our fathers, we bless You; Through trial and tempest our guide You have been. When perils o’er-take us, You will not forsake us, And with Your help, O Lord, our struggles we win.

With voices united our praises we offer And gladly our songs of thanksgiving we raise, With You, Lord, beside us, Your strong arm will guide us. To you, our great Redeemer, forever be praise!

Nehemiah 12:27

27 At the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem, the Levites were sought out from where they lived and were brought to Jerusalem to celebrate joyfully the dedication with songs of thanksgiving and with the music of cymbals, harps and lyres.

Isaiah 51:3

The Lord will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on all her ruins; he will make her deserts like Eden, her wastelands like the garden of the Lord. Joy and gladness will be found in her,

thanksgiving and the sound of singing.

Now Thank We All Our God

Now thank we all our God With hearts and hands and voices, Who wond-rous things have done, In whom His world rejoices; Who from our mothers’ arms Has blest us on our way With countless gifts of love And still is ours today.

Oh, may this boun-teous God Through all our life be near us, With ever joyful hearts And blessed peace to cheer us And keep us in His grace And guide us when perplexed And free us from all ills In this world and the next!

All praise and thanks to God The Father now be given, The Son, and Him who reigns With them in highest heaven, The one eternal God, Whom earth and heav’n adore; For thus it was, is now, And shall be evermore.

1 Corinthians 1:4

4 “ I always thank my God for you because of his

GRACE given you in Christ Jesus.”

2 Corinthians 4:13-15

13 It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.” Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak,

14 because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence.

15 All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.

1 Timothy 2:1-4

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—

2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”

3 “ This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

Let All Things Now Living

Let all things now living A song of thanksgiving To God the Creator triumphantly raise, Who fashioned and made us, Protected and stayed us, Who still guides us on to the end of our days.

His banners are o’er us, His light goes before us, A pillar of fire shining forth in the night, Till shadows have vanished And darkness is banished, As forward we travel from light into light.

His law He enforces, The stars in their courses, The sun in his orbit, obediently shine. The hills and the mountains, The rivers and fountains, The deeps of the ocean proclaim Him divine.

We too should be voicing Our love and rejoicing; With glad adoration a song let us raise Till all things now living Unite in thanksgiving To God in the highest hosanna and praise!

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

16 Rejoice always,

17 pray continually,

18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

In honor of my Grandson, Bennett...The Thanksgiving Song

(the senior Version)

The Thanksgiving Song

Jesus loves me this I know, though my hair is white as snow.

Though my sight is growing dim, still He bids me trust in Him.

Yes, Jesus loves me!

Yes, Jesus loves me!

Yes, Jesus loves me!

The Bible tells me so.

Though my steps are oh so slow, with me hand in His I'll go.

On through life let come what may, He'll be there to lead the way.

Yes, Jesus loves me!

Yes, Jesus loves me!

Yes, Jesus loves me!

The Bible tells me so.

When the nights are dark and long, in my heart He puts a song,

Telling me in words so clear, have no fear for I am near.

Yes, Jesus loves me!

Yes, Jesus loves me!

Yes, Jesus loves me!

The Bible tells me so.
